This is our 6th annual fundraising event to promote

our way of life. This is in response to Gov. Polis

declaring March 20th as Meat Out Day.

His constant attack on agriculture is getting

ridiculous. This is our way of fighting back.

This will also be our 3rd annual Meat In Open

auctioneer contest. 20 of the best auctioneers in the country will be in here. The proceeds from this event will go to numerous charities including, Angels of Americas Fallen, Sadie Bug Charities, Catfish Kicks for kids, Family Resource Center, Miracle Letter Program, Rocky Mountain Police & Fire Benevolence Fund, Ag Scholarships, Logan County Fair participants.

Meat In Recipient

Courtney Pickens Wernsman

I'm 42 years old and a proud mom of two incredible kids who mean

everything to me. My daughter, Tymber, is 17 and is currently a junior

at Akron High School and my son Trypp is 14 and an 8th grader at

Akron School. They are my biggest reason for pushing forward.

Twelve years ago, I learned I was BRCA 1 positive. Since then, I

have stayed proactive with yearly mammograms. In May 2025,

after my scheduled Mammo, doctors sent me to get an MRI, where they

found stage 1b triple-negative breast cancer. I am beyond thankful that

it was caught early.

This journey has been deeply personal, especially after losing my mom over four years ago to pancreatic cancer. Her strength and memory stayed with me through every step.

At the end of June 2025, I underwent a double mastectomy and reconstruction. I began chemotherapy mid-August, completed four rounds, and finished treatment at the end of October. Since then, I've been focused on healing and slowly getting my energy back. I've already had one MRI for pancreatic screening. I have one more surgery coming up, and two more additional scans scheduled between now and July.

I truly would not have made it through this without my family, friends, and the incredible communities I am a part of. Their constant encouragement, love, and support carried me through the hardest days and reminded me to keep going.

I'm a hairstylist, and throughout this entire process, I worked as much as I could. Being behind the chair gave me a sense of normalcy, purpose, and the connection I needed to get me through some of the hardest days I have ever had.

This experience has changed me and the way I look at life. It has given me a deeper appreciation for every moment and a strong desire to become an advocate for early detection. It saved my life and I want to help save others.
